Finding Your Soul Mate: The Seldom Used Method

“With 6.2 billion people in this world, how could I possibly still be single?”

Com’on! It’s not that bad. Cut out same sex, married people, babies, celibates, and dead people who still vote in our elections every four years, and the number is closer to a good 500 million qualified candidates. Then again, if they have to be practicing Christians, have a gym membership (that they use), never been married, no kids, a virgin, within 2 years of age, be within 10 miles from your house, and look like Kate Upton or Channing Tatam, don’t be surprised if the proverbial pool of prospective spouses shrinks to a puddle.

So often the search for the ideal man or woman begins with the question, “What is it that I am looking for in a spouse?” Then ensues the checklist that no one can measure up to, but your friends and your mother all assure, “You deserve all of that, and don’t settle for anything less.”

Not saying that we need to abandon our expectations. Those are important to have. But there is a better question to start with that is more likely to lead you to your soul mate, and the method to find its answer is a path most men and women flee from, let alone venture down. Continue Reading…
